ELECTED released today on AMAZON in ebook version and KICKSTARTER for the hardcover and printed copies, and I am absolutely floored by the response.  I promised I would keep you all up-to-date on how the book is doing and give you the ins and outs of publishing as I went through it.

So far:  on AMAZON the book is ranking really well.  I can’t see the sales yet because those have a few day delay, but by the ranking of 20K (which moved from 1,000,000 when the book first released) I can tell that sales are good.  The goal for today is to get ELECTED into the top 100, so we still have time!!!  On Kickstarter, I am also completely amazed.  The goal there is to raise $4,000 to cover the cost of printing hardcovers, which is very expensive unless you’re printing 100K of them.  In just a week we’ve already raised 80% of that goal, which is huge for Kickstarter.  Did you know that 2 out of 3 literary kickstarters fail completely?  And here we are at 80% with a month left to go.  Kickstarter was so pleased, they even called my publisher and invited the president to visit their corporate headquarters in NYC!

I can’t wait to hear what you all think of the book.  I have pretty thick skin after going through critique groups and multiple editors, so please tell me your honest thoughts.  What surprised you.  What made you mad.  What made you cry.  What made you laugh!

And I still need your help.  Please keep getting the word out about ELECTED through your various social media outlets (email, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)  Everything you’ve done today has made a world of difference!

And don’t forget to leave a review of ELECTED on Amazon!  That is one of the factors in pushing up its ranking and getting the book seen by random strangers!  Thank you to Clif, Kat, and Denise for already doing so!  I hope to have 100 reviews on there by the end of April!  Can we do it???  :)

Wow! That is a great start, and so awesome about Kickstarter. Good luck in the rankings…I hope they soar. :-)
