Spread the Word! SUSPECTED Releases on Earth Day!

Hi friends and readers, It's almost time for SUSPECTED to release across the mass markets!  That means it's coming out in vendors like Amazon, B&N, Smashwords, and ibooks on Earth Day April 22nd!  If it's not on the shelves at your local bookstore, you can always get the store to order you a copy.  My publisher uses one of the large printers that all local bookstores have a relationship with: Ingram.  Where there is a bookstore, you'll be able to get any of The Elected Series books. Book Contests, Free Stuff, and Winners

This post is packed with fun info about book freebies! First off, the winner of the my blog post on heroes was Mary Preston.  For commenting on the post, she won an ebook of ELECTED.  The Silence in the Library Publishing Kickstarter for the anthology of hero short stories is still going on, but there are only hours left.  At this point, so many stretch goals have been reached that anyone who pays $5 gets not only the anthology but also a bunch of other free books and short stories (at least 5 more, I think!)  One of those is Vincent Morrone's paranormal romance, Vision of Shadows, which...

Just Breathe by Vincent Morrone – Cover Reveal

Just Breathe by Vincent Morrone – Cover Reveal

I'm happy to be a part of writer Vincent Morrone's cover reveal for his latest book, Just Breathe.  This book is a little different from the ones I usually have on my website.  Even though at its core, Just Breathe, is a romantic novel, it's also a novel concerning the hard-to-write-about subject of sexual assault.  Vincent isn't afraid to delve into hard topics and based on the back cover copy for Just Breath, I'm interested to see how he handles it. ***** Back cover copy: When Cassie Shaw looks at Noah Hunt, she sees a knight in shining armor, but she’s convinced he sees her as nothing...

Vincent Morrone’s Writing Advice on Voice (and giveaway)

I'm excited to help announce Vincent Morrone's book release of VISION OF SHADOWS. To help Vincent celebrate, I asked him for his general thoughts on writing.  Here's what he said about a character's voice: "One of the most important things when you’re writing a novel is the voice of your characters. It’s not about how impressive your prose is, or how great a plot twist there is at the end. It’s the characters that draw us in. So how do you make sure your characters have a distinctive and charismatic voice? Listen to it. Don’t just read the words, but form the pictures in your mind...

The Importance of Reviews on Amazon

Authors appreciate receiving reviews on Amazon for a number of reasons that I'm not sure the average person even realizes.  First and foremost, reviews help a book's ranking on Amazon. Do you know how Amazon provides you recommendations?  When you're buying a book, there's always a list of other novels Amazon thinks you'd like.  They base it off your buying preferences but also upon other books' rankings.  If you like paranormal romance, they'll show you other highly ranked works in the same genre. Books are ranked through an intricate process enumerating everything from the number of clicks...
