ELECTED Out of Line Edits

As I've promised, I'm trying to be as transparent as possible about the process of getting ELECTED ready for publication.  That way friends who are reading my blog get to hear the inside scoop, and aspiring authors can hopefully get something out of my experiences.  And since I'm a debut author and everything along the way is new for me, I can tell it to you as I'm learning. ELECTED Now in Line Edits!

I promised you guys I would give periodic updates about where ELECTED stands in the editing process.  So I'm pleased to report the book is out of developmental edits as of yesterday!  That means the content changes are finished.  It went back and forth for between me, my agent, and my various editors at Entranced.  Now it's been approved to move into line editing, which means a different editor will check the manuscript for spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes.  The deadline to finish line edits is January 7th.  And after that it goes to production, including creating a galley and getting...

Lourdes Bernabe!  Thanks to everyone who entered the rafflecopter contest and helped make my cover reveal that much more exciting!  In other news, here's the latest with Elected's publishing process: I'm still going along through the editing cycle, but we're in the final stages of developmental edits.  Then Elected goes off for line editing.  Next, it moves to the imprint's director who gets the ARC formatted.  At this point, I believe it'll go online for pre-sale at places like Amazon.  My editor and I have one final chance to comb through the galley.  Then ARCs go out to bloggers,...
