Imagine Dragons – Radioactive (Good Inspiration for the Elected Trilogy!)

Can I reserve a song?

Have you heard the song Radioactive by Imagine Dragons yet?  It’s powerful, and it has almost every element of my book ELECTED within the lyrics (apocolypse, waking up, radioactive, welcome to the new age, revolution, sun hasn’t died…)  If Stephananie Meyer had Muse as her musical inspiration, then I have these guys!  It’s not often that I like every song from a band, but I do with Imagine Dragons.  And their lyrics match so well with the ELECTED trilogy’s themes.

I’m sure this band will go huge in a few weeks or so.  They’re just starting to be played on the radio, and their song on youtube already has over 9 million hits.

Lyrics below:

I’m waking up to ash and dust
I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust
I’m breathing in the chemicals
I’m breaking in, shaping up, checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa

I’m waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my system blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, whoa, I’m radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, whoa, I’m radioactive, radioactive

I raise my flags, don my clothes
It’s a revolution, I suppose
We’ll paint it red to fit right in
Whoa
I’m breaking in, shaping up, checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa

I’m waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my system blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, whoa, I’m radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, whoa, I’m radioactive, radioactive

All systems go, sun hasn’t died
Deep in my bones, straight from inside

I’m waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my system blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, whoa, I’m radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, whoa, I’m radioactive, radioactive
