ELECTED Now in Line Edits!

I promised you guys I would give periodic updates about where ELECTED stands in the editing process.  So I’m pleased to report the book is out of developmental edits as of yesterday!  That means the content changes are finished.  It went back and forth for between me, my agent, and my various editors at Entranced.  Now it’s been approved to move into line editing, which means a different editor will check the manuscript for spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes.  The deadline to finish line edits is January 7th.  And after that it goes to production, including creating a galley and getting the advanced reader copies (ARCs) ready for the bloggers and reviewers.  I have a few bestselling authors who said they’ll receive an ARC and possibly write an endorsement or blurb for ELECTED’s front cover.  So they’ll receive those ARCs and decide whether it fits their brand to comment on my book.  All exciting stuff!

In other writing news, I drafted the outline and first chapter of the third novel in the ELECTED SERIES.  And I’m editing the second ELECTED book based on substantive content changes from editing the first novel.

Writers reading this blog, let us know where your novels stand in production.  It’s fun to compare notes and encourage each other.

Hope you are all doing well this holiday season!

The second book in my series is still in content edits. I don’t mind edits, in fact, I kind of enjoy them. However, because I have to do content edits along with write the third book in my trilogy and continue marketing the first book, I feel a little overwhelmed. It’s challenging, but also thrilling because my dream of having this series published is coming true.

Wishing you much success with your novel. :)

Having so many things in production at the same time is overwhelming! But it’ll all pay off, because as you say, it’s your dream of having the series published! I’m so excited for you, Georgeann!
