You're in an elevator with the tinkling of soft piano music filling your ears, when low and behold Steven Spielberg walks in at the second floor.  He presses the button for floor 110, same as you.  The two of you are alone for the entire trip, and you see him notice the book (your book) you're clasping in your hot little hands.   When the elevator reaches floor 50, it turns to an express.  You're guaranteed to have an exclusive audience with the famous director for say...the next twenty-five seconds. I was inspired to write this particular post about the use of sensation and color after re-reading Janine K. Spendlove's 2nd book in the War of the Seasons series.  The novels are about a human girl who falls into an alternate world full of fairies, elves, sprites, etc.  Each of the seasons: Fall, Spring, Summer, Winter are at war, and each of at the four books focuses on a particular one.  It's like Alice in Wonderland meeting Harry Potter - a festival of creativity and a delight for the senses.
