Book Contests, Free Stuff, and Winners

This post is packed with fun info about book freebies! First off, the winner of the my blog post on heroes was Mary Preston.  For commenting on the post, she won an ebook of ELECTED.  The Silence in the Library Publishing Kickstarter for the anthology of hero short stories is still going on, but there are only hours left.  At this point, so many stretch goals have been reached that anyone who pays $5 gets not only the anthology but also a bunch of other free books and short stories (at least 5 more, I think!)  One of those is Vincent Morrone's paranormal romance, Vision of Shadows, which...

Author Tawnya Brock’s Writing Advice: “Put your back into it!”

Author Tawnya Brock’s Writing Advice: “Put your back into it!”

I have the pleasure tonight of introducing YA Author Tawnya Brock onto the blog.  She was gracious enough to sit down with me and give us her writing tip of the day "Put your back into it!" as part of the fast five questions series. 1.  What do you write? I write Young Adult paranormal and contemporary. Romance, of course. I can’t write a story without some kind of romance. I blame it on Nora Efron.  2. What prompted you to start writing novels? I’ve always known I would write stories. Like, always. Latest Writing News/Updates

Hi!  I thought it was about time for another update on how ELECTED is doing and to tell you what other writing stuff I'm up to.  And within this post there's an opportunity for teenagers to get a free copy of ELECTED!  Read below to see how. Just Breathe by Vincent Morrone – Cover Reveal

I'm happy to be a part of writer Vincent Morrone's cover reveal for his latest book, Just Breathe.  This book is a little different from the ones I usually have on my website.  Even though at its core, Just Breathe, is a romantic novel, it's also a novel concerning the hard-to-write-about subject of sexual assault.  Vincent isn't afraid to delve into hard topics and based on the back cover copy for Just Breath, I'm interested to see how he handles it. ***** Back cover copy: When Cassie Shaw looks at Noah Hunt, she sees a knight in shining armor, but she’s convinced he sees her as nothing...

What Makes a Hero? (ELECTED Book Giveaway!)

What Makes a Hero? (ELECTED Book Giveaway!)

(SEE BOTTOM OF POST FOR EASY WAY TO WIN AN EBOOK OF ELECTED!) Heroes come in all forms.  The nerdy outcast wizard who saves all muggles from he-who-won't-be-named.  A boy bitten by a spider whose guilt over his uncle's death leads him into a world of crime-fighting.  Or even a starving teenage girl who volunteers for the Hunger Games in place of her sister. There's no set stereotype for what a hero looks like or what he/she sacrifices to be given such a label.  The only thing that's common is a unique bravery. That's one of the reasons I love Silence in the Library's latest kickstarter...
