Johnny Depp Launching Publishing Imprint with Harper

How cool would it be to get published in general...but how super cool would it be to get published by Johnny Depp?  (Do you think the authors get to meet him?) Since Johnny Depp has been in so many films that were adapted from novels, he's launching a division of HarperCollins called Infinitum Nihil.  That's the same name as his production company, and translated it means "nothing is forever".  This is the production company, which had a hand in the films "The Rum Diary" (adapted from the novel by Hunter S. Online Novel Written in Real Time? Thoughts?

I just read an article about author Sylvia Hartmann who will attempt to write her next book online as people watch in real time.  Readers will be able to watch along as she backspaces over mistakes, changes sentences, and starts her manuscript from scratch.  It could actually be an interesting experience to watch an author edit and write as she goes. So how does it work logistically?  Readers will be notified via social media when Sylvia is about to go online to write.  Then if they want to watch, they just log into her site.  I think this is enabled through Google Drive. Holiday Card Writing!

On Saturday I finished the first round of ELECTED edits for my agent, so on Sunday I got to use my creative energy for something other than writing.  But...in the end it comes back to the subject of writing anyway.  :)  I absolutely love writing holiday cards every year.  And I love receiving them from others.  (This year I think we'll wait to combine the new baby/holiday card, so don't be sad if you don't receive one from me till very late in the winter season.)  The only problem I usually have with holiday cards comes when I try to display them as part of our holiday decorations. ...
